I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again: the more we can use technology to do things for us, the more we can philosophize on the nature of life, and improve ourselves. Technology doesn’t make us stupider, it just allows our brains to not have to retain so much trivial knowledge. I think this is why philosophers were always dirty and unkempt and forgot to brush their teeth—because they were too busy thinking. The Holy Fool looks like a fool because he’s wise beyond his years. Buddha was fat because he was enlightened. Now iPhones do our math for us, so we can dream about the stars instead of retaining knowledge of long division.
